A three-person startup has written a booking API for yoga studios as a single container image that listens for HTTPS requests. They want to deploy it straight from their container registry and get a secure public URL, with the service scaling up during the morning booking rush and down to very little overnight, without learning to configure load balancers, clusters or servers. Bookings are stored in PostgreSQL, and the database should scale its capacity with demand rather than being sized in advance. The database password must not be baked into the image.
